La Dolce Vita - Enjoyment reimagined

So expensive? When comparing the prices of coffee beans, it's immediately apparent that there are enormous price differences. So, should you always buy the cheapest pack of coffee at the discount store to save money? Naturally, it's not quite that simple.

The price at which coffee beans are sold depends on their origin, cultivation, quality, and roasting process. If you focus solely on price, you often miss out on the variety of aromas and genuine moments of enjoyment. Furthermore, not everything that seems expensive at first glance actually is. It's common for a seemingly bargain to cost more than expected when you compare prices.

And so the following arguments are by no means an invitation to pay too much money for your coffee beans, but rather a plea for conscious enjoyment.

1. Nothing in life is given for free

The laws of economics prohibit getting a lot of value for little money. This applies especially to the luxury item coffee.

2. Coffee stands for pure enjoyment

Did you know that coffee is composed of over 800 flavors? The variety of flavors in coffee ensures that good coffee tastes diverse and varied. Coffee tastes best when high-quality raw beans are used and processed with great care.

3. Taste nuances are only created by the right roasting method

Coffee beans only develop their full range of aromas during roasting. Here, it's better to roast slowly and gently than quickly and quickly. However, industrial hull roasting involves rapid roasting and high temperatures. This saves time and money. What's left is a typically burnt, greasy bean with a flat and bitter flavor. During slow and gentle drum roasting, however, the coffee gains aromatic nuances and loses most of its acidity and bitterness.

4. Expensive beans - cheap coffee

Using our Special Roast as an example, it's easy to see that while a price of €25.98/kg isn't exactly a bargain, it's still incredibly affordable. One espresso requires 7-8 g of ground coffee. This means a cup of espresso costs a maximum of 20 cents. Comparing this with capsule coffee or coffee from a coffee shop reveals what a real bargain it is.

5. What you put in at the top comes out at the bottom

Coffee machines can't do magic. You buy a powerful espresso machine or a brand-new fully automatic coffee machine and then fill it with mediocre coffee beans at best. The result is accordingly mediocre. Please don't skimp on the wrong thing, namely the beans, if you have all the technical capabilities to prepare professional-quality coffee and espresso.
